The original family home that today is the central part of the hotel was built in the late 1800s by our great grandfather Vincentino on his return from Argentina, where he had emigrated due to the severe crisis that had struck the inhabitants of Elba.

The idea of offering accommodation came to him by chance: a place to stay or spend the night when the priest, or doctor, or teachers in those days crossed over from the mainland.

It wasn't until 1949 that the house was officially turned into the "Locanda da Giuseppino" and humbly run by my granparents.

The first tourists started coming to Elba in the early 50s, even before the road was built, and arrived in Pomonte either by boat or on the back of a donkey, and that was when the Galeazzi family started offering accommodation to its guests in their house.

Needless to say the building has been renovated and the facilities have improved over the years, but what has never changed is the warm welcome approach we have towards all our guests.

We want everything to be perfect, right down to the smallest detail, be it how we treat our guests, how we exchange information and experiences of every day life, and the joys and pains that we have had to face over the years have made us even more confident that our efforts are appreciated and that there is always room for improvement.

Today, along with my family, we want our guests to have a truly memorable holiday in a welcoming and efficiently run hotel.
