Our small but comfortable hotel is in Pomonte, one of the most characteristic villages in the "Costa del Sole" on the western side of the island, and is only a few steps away from the spectacular granite cliffs, so typical of this part of the island, as well as the tiny, pebble inlets.

When you're in Elba, whether you want to be surrounded by the nature of the land or whether you prefer that of the sea, the Hotel Corallo is the ideal place for both.

The hotel was originally built in the late 1800s around what used to be a country house, and since then has been family run for the past three generations; first class quality service and special care in every detail are priorities to us. We like to look after our guests in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere that we hope enables them to discover the true soul of the island, in direct contact with nature and far from the busy tourist resorts.

 

Another of our priorities is our cuisine, that is very closely linked to local products, so that even the simplest of recipes is always very tasty: at breakfast, for example, guests can be sure of a choice of our home made cakes and jams; we choose all our fresh products very carefully, with as much fruit and vegetables in season as possible directly from our organic garden; the fish our chef prepares and cooks is always fresh and caught locally.

All the rooms in our hotel are comfortable and furnished with good taste, but the best are without a doubt those built out of the original building, proof of a century of Elba history.

The Hotel Corallo also has a fully furnished apartment that sleeps 5/6, consisting of 2 bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, two bathrooms with shower and large terrace that measures 30 m2.

Garden with private car park, another one for bicycles and motor bikes. Free use of computer at the reception and Wi-Fi connection both in the public areas of the hotel and in the rooms. In our library, guests will find many books both on the history and on the environment of Elba, as well as books for children.

 

We also offer our guests many sports alternatives to the beach and the sea: the natural beauty of the deep valley rising up from the sea as far as the peak of Monte Capanne - 1,019 metres high - not only gives you the chance of getting to know the true history of the island, but will also fascinate you. For hiking and walking lovers, there are many suggestive paths that start off right from our characteristic village; all are clearly signposted and offer various levels of difficulty, some through vineyards, others through chestnut woods, all in the heart of the Mediterranean bush with its typical, unmistakable perfumes. From the peaks of the surrounding mountains you have a breathtaking view not just of Elba, but also of the other islands of the Tuscan Archipelago as well as that of the island of Corsica.

Thanks to its south west position, Pomonte has a mild climate, and this makes it the perfect place for a holiday not just in summer but also in spring, autumn and winter, seasons in which an unexpectedly warm day at the beach, or just a relaxing walk, are even more enjoyable.

And this is the atmosphere we were born in and have lived in up till now, a unique land that is very rich in biodiversity that we have come to love and want to protect, and this is the main reason why we joined the Progetto Ambiente, because we are firm believers in the Tuscan Archipelago Bio-Watching Association.

During the low season, in collaboration with the Environmental Guides, once a week there are free, day excursions for our guests.
